VW independents around Sunderland area?

Mother in law has a Polo out of warranty - any VW independents around that somebody can recommend for a 4 year service please? Been quoted £299 by dealer but she's having to hang up her driving gloves and it will be getting sold ( making the north east a safer place for us all in the process )

Perhaps a bit far out the way but Johnny Wood at VWX Automotive near Hexham is who I would use.

Knows VDubs inside out and very reasonably priced.

Not from the NE but saw the post as I'm moving our VW away from franchised dealer to a recommended VW indie - but we're keeping the car and I'm keen to build a relationship with them.

The point I was going to make is that I've found the indie only marginally cheaper than the dealer and in fact if I'd been prepared to sign up for either VW or the dealers own 2 service deal, then the indie is a fair bit dearer.

The other thing in your case is that a cooking Polo is about as basic as it gets. Any garage could service it in their sleep. If you're bothered about having the right sort of stamp in the book then you might as well stick with the dealer - they'll often discount the MOT too.

Thanks everybody, she eventually got it serviced at a local garage, stamp wasn't important.
Now on Autotrader as she comes to terms with public transport or taxis.
