North East Kit Car MOT stations

I have bought an ex-racecar which has previously been through the SVA, has a number plate and is currently SORN. It was stripped for racing so now has no lights, windscreen, wipers, etc. From what I've been reading it will probably be OK for an MOT as these things are not required for a car that will be run during daytime hours (only really want to have it road legal to bed in new parts).

When I spoke to my local MOT guy he said it was a bit of a pain as they would have to look up every regulation to see if it is mandatory because he has never done one like this before. He recommended taking it to a station that does this sort of thing regularly as they would be much better at it.

Anyone know of a North East garage who can help?

not sure about lights but certainly if no windscreen you don't need wipers.
