Hi,

Looking for a restaurant around the area for this weekend, been living away for a while so not sure whats new/good, any recommendations?

Fairly open to food choice, thinking maybe Lotus lounge in Yarm or Durham. Went to Fat Buddha before which was nice.
Few nice bars around there as well for afterwards.

Any recommendations welcome.

Zen up by the courthouse in Durham, if you liked Fat Buddha then you'll like there
Cafe Lilli in Norton for Mediterranean/French/Italian style cuisine

As according to workmates, Europa in Boro do the best Parmos if you like that sort of thing (but they're not for me tbh)

THE TALBOT, Bishopton TS21 1HE. 01740630371 www.talbotbishopton.co.uk

We have had our TVRCC Tees Valley Region Xmas meal there for the last 3yrs, always by unanimous decision and always first class & brilliant. Rebecca & Chris have a real good thing going there and it is to be highly recommended and respected. Many of our guys go there often as a result of their Xmas experience.

Right a list it is!

Starting with home!

Mohitos Billingham - best parmo last year and great Mexican good would recommend a Mexican tophatter as a drink of choice !
The ship wolviston - good pub food.

Pharmacy boro - great alternative food with a twist ! Pork dishes and pizzas are excellent as well as service !

Old mill a1 - just off a1 this has a great setup and a great menu ! Would really recommend this !

The Hamilton Russell - just of Thorpe thewls is a bother great pub!

Chillicake - baker street boro is one of the best sandwich shops I've ever been to as well as the baker street kitchen and Italian job around the corner !

Marina Hartlepool has a good election of restaurants I've heard great things about !

Purple pig yarm - decent burger joint!

Hmm that do for now ! Enjoy !

Oh how could I forget the bridge inn Stapleton! One of the biggest menus that I have seen and a greatly priced Sunday carvery! Also the jersey farm for a carvery is rather specail, locates in Barnard castle smile

That will do biggrin

Absolutely brilliant place, proper Masterchef style cooking. Love it.

Also, if you like parmos, Kebabish on Linthorpe Rd in Boro, best ones MrsSE and I have ever had...

^ used to be really, really good until a few years ago, when they were closed for a long time following a fire. I've been twice since then and have been disappointed on both occasions, thought both the quality of the food and the service had gone right downhill.

I haven't been in at least a year though.

The Kings Arms at nearby Great Stainton is very good IME.

Cheers lads. Some quality recommendations.
Looking to book in somewhere really nice in a week or two, thinking maybe the Tontine or the Talbot looks nice?

Any other recommendations for that type of establishment?
