Hi People
Has any of the members had anything done at A19 Tuning, I need my motor on a rolling road to get it perfect, an idea of the cost would be good too.

Many thanks
Ian

Many moons ago my Granada V6 had a running problem and they found the fault, repaired it and for a very reasonable price.

Only problem I found is when you drop the car off, you need another car to go off in, otherwise you have to hang around the garage all day. It's in the middle of nowhere.

On the whole, I'd give them a thumbs up.

i use teeside motor factors myself, they usualy let me stay and watch ,(best ask first)theyre v,reasnable specily if u have to go back again(ie falt found, part needed etc).although i dont no what spec they both can handle,i asume quite hi as they supply nitrus(not that ive been sniffing it out for the cerby you must understand)
and u can send the domestic round middleboro window shoping,as its right in the centre, near the railway station iff theres a big bang
although A19 always have a toe truck or so on hand
(but we have a bigger selection of more specialist veacles in a better brand )
ALL THOUGH I HAVE NEVER HURD ANY BAD REPORTS FROM A19.
were ever u go(if u do)hope u come out smiling .

I've used them a couple of times on the Wedge and I'll no doubt use them again.

Both times the car just wasn't running right, dodgy idle, lack of power, hesitation...that kind of thing. Both times when I left it felt like it was a different car. First time cost £55 and second (about 2 weeks ago) cost £64 which included their £10 fuel system clean (bottle of injector cleaner in the tank, I assume).

I drove down from South Shields so had to hang round while they did it, but it was only an hour and a half to two hours the times I was there. I just read my book with a cup of tea in the waiting room.

never used them, but if you need an excellent 'old school' garage then you won't do any better than macdonald racing in lanchester. oh and they have a rolling road too, although it's usually used to sort out morgans and lagondas etc...

Thanks folks
Have just come off the phone to A19 and I am very very dissapointed in the guys attitude, he basiclly said is the engine in the back? I said you told me you had worked on Esprits before which he bragged about at the start of the call. I said yes of course its in the back where else would it be!! he said nah I cant be bothered to do it as its awkward. Them were his exact words. Mini do you have that guys number in Lanchester.

Many Thanks
Ian

He must have customers queing up at the door to be able to treat you like that. I wonder if he realises the cost of "word of mouth"

That's pretty shocking.

Incidentally when I was there the first time they had an Esprit waiting to be done and a Ferrari 308/328 in there being worked on...

Yes thats the place, I have had a conversation with another garage this afternoon and apparantly someone else runs the place now, as I can understand a guy called Bill Paxton used to run it and has now gone on somewhere else, and its got a bit of a bad reputation now, these are HIS, not my comments by the way, but going off my phone today call I can see why.

01207 520916 - they have my Ginetta G33 in there at the moment...as for service, the owner lives on site (it used to be a farm) and interrupted his sunday lunch to come out to the workshop and open up when I dropped the car off on sunday at 4pm. I really rate them

Thanks mini,
I phoned the guy he seems to know his stuff, might use him if we can negotiate a price for the work, he quoted me £48 plus vat per hour which is very expensive, but if he knows his stuff could be worth it in the long run.
