Beware Northumbria police monitor this forum
Discussion
Thanks for the tip-off, but nothing new to be honest. PH is a public forum in the public domain, and at least one decent regular is a member of Northumbria Police. Even private forums are not so private with some basic know-how.
I organised a road safety event a few years back where Northumbria Police's chief driving instructor gave some sound advice to me and a group of other enthusiasts, "there are plenty of NSL roads out there where you'd struggle to do the NSL, go and have fun finding them". Top bloke and top advice.
I've found most local PH'ers to be decent enough and safe drivers, and those that do drive like idiots quickly get frowned upon and turned away.

Just to echo what SeanyD said really, PH is a public forum for car enthusiasts and this little area is almost a little community (just look at the number of non-motoring threads). Idiots don't get tolerated on runs, I've seen people turned away before now.
If the BiB are reading this then register, it would be good to hear the other side of things and you've even got your own area of the main forum

If the local plod want to spend their time sitting at their desks and trawling the net looking for evidence of dangerous driving, they'd do much better elsewhere than wasting time on PH - dangerous driving is just as frowned upon here, if not more than anywhere else, because we recognise the damage that irresponsible morons do to the reputation of all motoring enthusiasts.
There are unfortunate corners of the internet where with very little effort, you could get details to attend or participate in street racing all over the north east, and PH is not one of those places.

I am surprised that they have time to monitor this forum, or get ant police work done at all, if they all behave like their senior officers!

How much is all this costing the force in terms of money and loss of public respect?
I chose the Mirror quote as it spared some of the more lurid detail reported in the Sun and the Daily Mail!

It doesn't say that any of the thirteen were guilty, but the revelations so far of the behaviour of the Chief Constable and his senior staff do not show the force in a good light. How much is all this costing the force in terms of money and loss of public respect?
