I got pulled off plod last night
Discussion
On the way out of the carpark last night, wanted to try the route suggested by the GPS, turning left instead of my usual turn right.
As I forgot to plug in the GPS, it didn't tell me which way to go, so just set off on my usual route through Durham. If only I had plugged the thing in, would have saved a bit of bother.
Through Durham, noticed a jam sarnie two cars back so drove carefully. Pulled in behind me and the blues went on. As is my policy in these situations, engine off and jump out to talk face to face. Rather attractive policewoman told me my number plates were illegal and to get them changed as soon as possible. Apologised, i'll have them changed tomorrow, thank you for pointing out the error made by previous owner *cough*
We then spent a while chatting about TVR's and how someone she knew had a Cerbera with the plate C7 ERB, all the while my knees were knocking and I'm shivering due to the cold. She was standing with just a jumper on and didn't acknowledge the cold at all.
So, I'm glad I didn't get a ticket or anything as that would have been a pain - good one Durham constabulary.
P.S. Had to do 120 up the A1(M) to make up time joking, joking.

Did she go into the reason why they are illegal blah blah blah yawn.....
Did you get a 14 day improvement notice?
Only a little bit of the reason, very quickly mentioned camera's but very quickly got back to the subject of how nice the car was.
Didn't get a ticket, but she said something along the lines of it was flagged on the DVLA computer and if I get caught again, DVLA could issue me with a Q plate.
It was my own fault really, I didn't realise the font I selected on fancyplates was the wrong one until the plates arrived, but after spending £50 on plates, I'll be buggered if I'm going to chuck em away. Still, I've had a full summer of them and the back plate fell off once so was worse for wear, so Fancyplates has had another £50 off me and I've mad sure the font is the UK standard one this time.
