Stag do in Newcastle
Discussion
Hi Guys, I've searched a few posts on here but there are all a bit old and I know places change etc.
About 15 of us are embarking on Newcastle for a stag do on the second May bank holiday. The provisional idea is arriving late afternoon Saturday and finding a pub then an Indian followed by a few bars then generic activities during Saturday and a few pubs/clubs Sunday night before returning home Monday.
Where would people recommend to do all the above?? (None of us have ever been before)

Id probably do it the other way round. Go out for pubs/clubs saturday as sunday night will be dead wherever you go imo. Id recommend the 'Shark Club' by St james' park to start for some bait and drinks etc before working your way down past the gate towards bigg market/diamond strip etcAbout 15 of us are embarking on Newcastle for a stag do on the second May bank holiday. Sunday, Theres a go-kart track in dunston about 5mins drive from newcastle center, or shooting ranges up by the airport in dinnington (presume you could book in some clay pigeon etc)
Curry sunday night at akbars, followed by a few at the around central. OR head to jesmond for food and drinks, about 5mins in taxi again
I don't know if I'd bother with Akbars, it's definitely an average curry, though maybe it's above the city centre standard, Spice Cube was much better but is sadly gone now I think. I'd go along to Curry Capital and have the Curry Hell meal, it's a stag do so you might as well go apest.
I can recommend the shooting range near Dinnington too, it's called the Steve Smiths Shooting Range. I go shooting there with friends, I've seen stag parties there doing a shoot, always looked like they were having fun. They talk you through the gun and safety, then pretty much just start pulling the clays. They always put the stag groups on an easy range too, so even if you've never shot before or are terrible at it, you should still be able to hit plenty of clays. About 20 minutes drive / taxi from the city centre.
I've heard good things about the indoor karting in Dunston, but I've never been. The last time I went karting it was to a fairly large outdoor track near the Stadium of Light in Sunderland, it was a great laugh but I don't know if that place is still operating. The place in Dunston has a tunnel if I remember the description of the place, so you can pretend you're Vettel in the Monaco F1.
There's also a Delta Force paintball place near Cramlington, about 30 minutes from the city centre. That can be fun, though it can be a bit st if the weather is bad.

The go kart track is no where near the SOL it's at Warden Law , but still worth a visit .I can recommend the shooting range near Dinnington too, it's called the Steve Smiths Shooting Range. Karting Northeast is well worth a visit http://www.kartingnortheast.com/ they also do 4x4 offroading, rage buggies, archery and tomahawk and paintball. They cater for stag parties so there would not be any problem going there.Personal opinion etc, but I prefer the Dunston indoor karting to the Warden Law outdoor karting, based on..
a) Warmer and dryer.
b) The track is more fun and interesting, including tunnel, ramp, and hairpin 'drift' corner next to the spectator area.
c) Closer and easier to get to from Newcastle, 10 minutes as opposed to 30 minutes.

I wouldn't bother with this, to be honest. It's a faff to get to, mainly because you'd need a car to get there unless you fancy getting off the bus at Seaton Burn and walking the rest of the way. And the site is covered in patches of festering, bacterial mud. You'll end up completely stinking after a day on the site and your shoes will be ruined. I ended up binning my shoes and getting a lift home barefoot, sitting on a bin bag last time I went! So you'll either be left with a filthy, stinking car or a soggy walk back to the bus route at Seaton Burn, though you'd be lucky to be let on the bus covered in mud!
