Moving into my shiny* abode on Monday, intend on getting a S/H gas cooker (from a proper shop, guaranteed and whatnot) - before I hand over a wodge of cash to the store to fit it, and PHers qualified to do so?
I have no doubt I could do it myself, but my landlord might get a bit shirty. And I cant live in an oven...

*not yet shiny

If the fitment is there its just like fitting a lightbulb, push in and turn and you will feel the gas flow, it really is very simple to do if the house is piped up for gas, i must have done 10 or more

Oh, I have no doubt I could do it, but as a condition of the let I need a hundred pieces of paper signing every time I do anything...

It really is a 30 second job, just push the bayonet fitting in, affix the chain to the wall and it's done, and the chances of it going wrong really are minimal. However, on the off chance something does go awry and OP blows the property up with a gas explosion it would be a pricey mistake to make!

Not just that, I'm a firm believer in "sod it, it'll be fine" - but its an unfurnished property so when it comes to an inspection by the agent, they'll see it and want to see the paperwork. frown
