Performance cars on A1 Gosforth - 20th July

Loads of performance and modified cars queuing to come off the A1 northbound at the Gosforth Park exit at about 20.00 this evening. Anyone know what was going on?

Just returned from a wedding and a fellow guest mentioned seeing them also.... No idea what they were up to or where they had been or were going to?

That will have been Summer MaDDness. If I wasn't working I'd have had a look. Surprised ut wasn't mentioned on here...

As mentioned, it was the Summer MaDDness meet. Was a big gathering at Team Valley before the organisers drove everyone to the secret location that was somewhere just after the turn off for 'Wide Open' (I giggled). The A1 North bound had a stream of cars from Team Valley to the place for a good hour and a half, well over 1500 cars.

Mostly modified cars but a couple of very serious stuff like a yellow supercharged Viper with 830bhp (or so it said down the side of it)

It looks to have been one of the biggest gatherings of enthusiasts cars this year in the North East - in fact, at 1500 cars it's almost certainly the biggest. Not sure how it went under the radar here! Some good photos though, looks like there were some nice cars there.

I was wondering what this was, I was at my brother in laws new house (in the housing estate past the sage) and when I came out there was loads of cars everywhere! I saw the viper but most of the cars were Corsa's on porsche wheels etc. I did just drive through though!
