Any interest in a run out this Sunday (the earlier the better)? I don't have anywhere in mind but the forecast is good and just realised I have a free Sunday morning (for once!) - was thinking more of a couple of hours than half a day and I'm based in County Durham but don't mind travelling to meet up...

If theres a few cars up for it and its fairly local I could be up for it, spend less on drink sat night and more on petrol on sunday morning.

I'm all for one if its NE coast area. Still got to work later but I usually have to be up at 0430.

Earlier the better for me as need to be back by lunchtime. I was thinking of heading west to Middleton In Teesdale then up to Alston (don't actually know those roads but lots of people recommend it) but more than happy to go somewhere different.

Well the road to Alston didn't disappoint! Left home bit later than intended (just before 8:30) and briefly got caught behind a few cars on the A688 around Bishop but not for long, however after Staindrop I had a completely clear road (apart from cyclists and sheep) all the way to Alston. Came back on A689 through Stanhope, Frosterley etc which wasn't as good but was happy just to 'pootle' as I'd had such a blast on the way there. Maybe next time I'll venture further north from Alston and then into Northumberland but will definitely head over that way again.
