Team valley lockdown

So wtf is going on around the Team valley?

Every road in and out has sneaky live radio wired cameras and black traffic monitoring cables across the carriageway.

Go up to Whickham and down to Bensham.

It's the cameras I don't like.

Usually 2 of them cable tied to a lamp post, 1 pointed at your face and 1 at the car reg plate.

Looks like plod is wanting to see if anyone is speeding.

I reckon, on a trip to Sainsburys of around 2 miles, I'm recorded on at least 30 different cameras even without these road traps.

There were cameras strapped to the A1 flyover parapets next to Scotswood B&Q at the weekend too. I presumed they were DVLA rather than plod, but I don't know for sure.

Might be totally unrelated to TVTE surveillance of course.

Cameras taken down last night but the cables across the road are still there.

Maybe I'll ask for the photos of my car citing the freedom of information act and see what happens.

Sounds like they are assessing the traffic flow. They must be planning on building a larger retail estate or even housing?
