I would have thought MacDonald Racing would be your best bet for that Peter.

Has anyone got experience of McDonnald Racing. I once went there for a Dyno run and left wondering if the opperator knew what he was doing, however this may have been a one off

If you're prepared to go a bit further south Motoscope in Northallerton have a good reputation, further south still Dave Bogg down near Malton is spoke of highly by a lot of mini owners I know.

Cheers, happy to travel a reasonable distance so Malton would be ok. I would think Motorscope will probably not have a good supply of SU needles.

Dave Bogg? Do you have a company name or is it just Dave Bogg

Not the greatest website but I know a few people who've used them over the years.

You'll probably find it easier to phone than get through by email.

A colleague used said outfit and ended up going to see Richard at Motorscope to remove some nasty flat spots caused by poor carb jetting. Definitely worth travelling to Motorscope.

Thanks for the info guys.

Spoke to Motorscope and they can do Minis but may not have needles. Quite expensive at £75/hour but not unreasonable.

Spoke also to Dave Boggs son who said they do Minis and have a good supply of needles. he said that it would be his dada that would do the work and they charge a flat rate of £100 so I think I may well go to them

If its Dave doing the work it'll be spot on he probably started working on Minis before yours rolled off the line. He's a proper old school tuner.

Hi Jeff, hows you

Thanks for that, gave him a bell, sounds a nice chap. He does Minis and re-profiles needles so may well use him as he is much closer.

all Good Peter thanks, bit older no wiser!

Ron is a good hand, he tuned a lot of the north east westfields that run on carbs, he is a wizz with old school stuff.

Im not sure if Mcdonald are trading tbh, pretty sure they have moved or were moving from those old buildings on the bank ??
