Roads are relatively clear, still snow drifts on the sides.

Watch for rivulets of frozen water crossing the roads though.

This was the B6278 yesterday so I would imagine it will be pretty similar.

I was also there yesterday from consett to stanhope, and it was a bit tricky which is why I posted about hartside, if it's like that probally not too good

went over there last tuesday morning in a blizzard with ice and snow drifting across the roads... returned on friday late afternoon with clear roads and blue skies..

It was really odd leaving lanchester with no snow at all then travelling through consett with snow still lying then entering a blizzard up before alston, then no snow lying or any signs of it again when I reached penrith......

I made the mistake of driving down the inlaws drive up Huntsanworth on tuesday, a landcruser and a tow rope were required for me to get back out.

Some of the roads with 8 to 10 foot walls of snow on either side were pretty impressive though.

Went over not long ago, was ok except for the odd bit of ice at the side of the road on top. Hairpins were fine

Went over last week and the road was fine. The snow drift are overhanging a little so the road is not as wide as normal.

Just make sure you miss all of the pot holes as the roads are in a bad way.

It must be 2+ years since ive been over hartside. Shocking really since we used to be over that way nearly every weekend. Last time I went over (think i was in the R26.R at the time) some sections were terrible. Cracked, falling to bits and full of potholes.

What you driving these days Carl? Its Ian btw aka EVLXGE, fancied a name change. smile
