A1 camera van???

Heading south on the A1 saturday about 5:30 pm passing Darlington area i saw a large white van parked on a bridge it had a elevated camera pointing at the oncoming traffic.The van had no markings on it to indicate what it was....Any ideas?

Yep ANPR with interceptors it is on my commute route.

It is there once a fortnight on average and as far as I know picking up wanted/uninsured etc vehicles. I have heard that they will respond to excessive speed if up towards the 6pt/ban area. You would be taking it easy around that bend due to joining traffic from the A66M though wouldn't you

Of course i was doing 70mph all the way...I always stick to the speed limit EVERYWHERE!!!!
