Tread very, very carefully today. The roads are extremely treacherous at the moment. Though the snow out there at the moment appears to be a light dusting, it is a deceptive kind of snow that looks powdery and inoffensive, but it is as slippy as ice. Just spent 10 hours driving round in it and then had to drive home. Newcastle was bad but Northumberland is like a skating rink. Go steady and give oncomers a very, very wide berth...

Good, I'd rather they kept their salty rubbish away from my rustless bodywork

Newcastle wasn't too bad. But as soon as I passed Throckley on the A69, the road was down to one lane, snowed over. The only bare surface was what had been cut in by the cars in front. Not sure where the gritters were! The dangerous part being that some people were going on as if it was just a light dusting, but I have never known traction to be so badly affected by such a small amount of snow. Looks like it's going now though, hopefully not to come back either.
