I'm looking for a good Audi specialist to have a look at the CVT box on my A6.

Any recommendations?

Cheers

Believe the garage at Pickering Nook is an Audi indi and also SMC in east Stanley is VAG specialist. Not used either but know lads that have. Both fairly local tp you.

Pitstop just up from the Quayside used to be a decent VAG specialist. Haven't used them for years though.

It's a bit of a distance Dan, but Lawson Cars in Boro are excellent for Audi repairs. Not seen you in a while but I traded in the Gaylander for a 2.0t A4 Avant which turned out to have an oil consumption problem. They rebuilt the engine under warranty, their work is top class, they keep you updated daily on what's going on and their prices seem reasonable. They are all ex Audi techs and it's a Bosch Service Centre. Can't recommend them enough!

These guys are in Westerhope, two minutes off the A1 in Newcastle. They are well spoken of locally and always loads of VAG cars outside, so clearly they are not short of business/recommendations!

My mum used swift yesterday for a cambelt change on her 2.0tdi A3 on my recommendation from reading this thread.

She reported to me that they were very helpful and knowledgeable. The service was very good. The car will be going back for it's next service when required. The price quoted was exactly what she paid and there was no "low brake pads etc" that some garages tend to try with women.

Oh, and they were nearly half the price Audi quoted.

All together, thumbs up. Would use again and recommend them

Hi, I have used CS Motor Engineering for work to my A4 turbo recently. They are based in Longbenton not far from the Silverlink. Service was spot on and a LOT cheaper than the main dealer. I saved almost £1000 so would defo recommend hope this helps http://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/imgs/4.gif
