Major Tyre Repair?

Does anyone know anywhere in the north east that'll do a vulcanised major tyre repair? Got a nail through one of mine that's right on the edge of repairable, tyre spot said it'd have to be sent away as it can't be patched, 7 day turnaround on that & I don't have a spare. Tried Revolution in Dunston who wouldn't touch it because they only had patches. Tyre still has 7mm of tread so I really don't want to have to buy a new one

I'd speak to Greg at Grande Tyres Fastfix on Dunston Bank, he'll tell you straight whether it's fixable or not.

Grande fixed it, radial patched. Just had to make me aware it's not exactly the way tyres are supposed to be repaired these days .... while in the same breath saying its how tyres have been repaired for the last 20 years
