Hi chaps, ladys

Does any one know a specialist lotus mechanic or garage in the area, or anyone familiar and competent enough to tackle doing my head gasket, it decided it didnt want to be part of my car anymore at the weekend...
Cheers
Ian (Esprit turbo)

Go on, get your spanners out and do it yourself. You know you want to.

I got my Elise from Formula One in N'cle, and the reputation is good. However they are not cheap, and I don't know how well they know the older cars. Worth a try though.

Yes, try Malcolm Dickinson. Back Goldspink lane just off Sandyford road in Newcastle. He was originally trained by Ellis Moor who were the first Lotus dealer in Newcastle back in the seventies. He setup on his own when they went bust and has worked on many of the Lotuses (Lotii) in the North East since. He's looked after both the Lotuses I and my brother have owned (an Excel and a Turbo Esprit) and is very knowledgeable. What he doesn't know about Lotuses isn't worth knowing. Mention my name if you speak to him.

Thanks lads and ladys, Ive spoke to the respective garages, who all seem petrified of the work, and after much deliberation have decided to get me spanners out and do it meself, hopefully in time for Shaftos.

Thanks
Ian

How are you getting on with this?
Always looks to me like the Esprit engine would be easier to take out than to work on in situ...
