Hi people,

as per thread title really. Tenant in a house I rent out says bath water isn't as hot as it used to be despite turning up the temp knob on the combi-boiler.

I'm after a good, reasonably priced boiler engineer to have a look into it, as the guy I usually use has just retired.
Boiler and heating system is only 2 years old, so hopefully it won't require a complete new boiler.

Any recommendations welcome, so I don't get someone trying it on.

Cheers. smile

Have you pointed out to the tenant that it is in fact winter, the water in the reservoirs is colder now so it takes more heat input to warm it a given amount. Tell him/her to open the tap only part way, that'll slow the water down so it spends more time in the boiler's heat exchanger biggrin
Or quietly turn the incoming main stopcock down a couple of turns, that'll have the same effect whistle

Cheers wedg1e,

yep I thought of that after I posted the above, well actually my girlfriend did (I always have showers).

I asked the tenant, who is a mate of mine to see what the temperature was doing with a thermometer. He got back to me and said "By reducing flow at the tap we get a 16 degrees C temp increase."

So I think it's sorted but I've told him if he has to run the tap stupidly slowly, to let me know and I'll get someone out.

So I'm still on the hunt for a good engineer (for my CP12s etc) but there's no immediate rush.

I like your style with regard to the last bit. hehe
I may turn the stopcock down a touch for the next tenant. wink
Although I'm sure most people would be ok about running their bath a bit slower during winter.

Cheers for the reply. smile
