Well, that was an eventful morning drive. Took the missus to work, a trip of 22 miles through Newcastle and Northumberland, and saw 6 obvious insurance write-offs, some of which unfortunately looked pretty serious, as well as numerous other cars in hedges / ditches / sliding sideways down the road. Some of the accidents I passed on the outbound leg had claimed others on the way back as people continue to drive at pace towards blue flashing police lights. It looks like it's going to be a very busy day for the emergency services.

The black ice has well and truly bitten now, take it easy out there guys!

It seems to be thawing and drying a bit now, but the black ice is well and truly upon us for the next few months I think. Snow before Halloween, wtf is all that about?
