Hi everyone!

In Durham city for a while, and I have my car with me... can anyone recommend some good roads nearby?

Cheers

A68, up to Consett, head across the moors to Stanley, then high force, then back to Durham.

Stanley is about 6 miles from consett along a straight a road and nowhere near high force, think you might have made a mistake.

Agreed - head right out to Alston for dinner then come back the way you came.

The sun was out this evening, warming up my car, so I had to had to have a little hoonage didn't I. Found some lovely country roads around Esh and Cornsay, just on the doorstep of Durham!

They are good, but beware of the mobile camera in Cornsay. My dad got his first speeding ticket there in over 30 years of driving in that village, a proper revenue earner.

Similarly, a mate of mine got snapped in Pity Me a few years back. Watch out...

As for driving roads in Durham, I'd pick the A1 north to Northumberland! hehe

Exactly Paul, after all Durham is only a stones throw from the A19.
