Photographer for Croft Track Day

Does anybody know of a professional (or semi pro) photographer in the area who we could commission to take some action track-side photographs of the Croft Track day on the 19th September?
Not taking anything away from Stefan of any other 'snappers', but I would be happy to contribute towards getting a pro or semi pro photographer to record the action from around the track on the day. Would anybody else be up for this? The more people who drive / contribute on the day, the cheaper the cost.

I've just spoken with Muddyweb and they are available. Need to sort some details now. Last time they had several cameramen spotted around the track just taking random shots. Folks would then visit their tent and if they liked what they saw they would buy.
I need to sort out how this can happen and get approval from Croft but there's a possibility we may have it sorted.

I'd probably be up for chipping in with costs. How much is it likely to cost in total for day for them to come ?

I'm picnhing my dads SLR as it has a longer zoom and what-ya-have. Yes they are snaps, but I make up for that in the number I take and the much lower cost

Oh, and are you bringing one of the Scott USA vans down - apparently with the P0 tyres on they handle like a Golf GTI cocking one tyre if you corner hard

If you know Croft you'll know all the best shots are spoiled by wire fences. Croft officials are willing to allow pro-photographers inside the fencing where they stand behind the Armco barriers. It's probably too much to expect for them to allow a spectator in. We could try though.
I had guessed that, but was hoping they'd let me in to stand somewhere (safely - I have no desire to put myself or the drivers in danger)...
I don't know croft either mind, only ever been there once to see the BTCC, know the layout of the track quite well from racing games mind

It could be that we're allowed onto the pit wall, I've taken plenty of shots from there and there's no wire fence, and out on the back straight heading down to Tower there is only a low fence.
I've often got some good shots straight through the wire fence, just need to get the focusing and the aperture right.

Yes there are plenty of places, pit wall included. I like to see pictures of cars going round corners, more 'action shot' than racing down the straight. Stills of cars on corners look good because you can see energy at play in the posture of the car and driver. Stills of cars on the straight look very similar to stills of parked cars. Corners are, by their nature, dangerous for spectators so that's where you'll find the high fences. That's the issue, the best shots are where the high fences are. If we can get people inside the fence then the photos will be better and easier to take.
If we cannot get enough people interested in chipping in for a professional photographer, then I know of somewhere where I could 'hire' a decent camera (along the lines of a Canon 1D & a/some 'L' series lenses).
Other than that, I shall be bringing a Canon SLR camera with a 90-300 lens (if think that what it is).

If you can't get anything sorted, my brother in-law is a pro lensman and he is very reasonably priced, of course, I would say that but he is.
He normally does charity event or weddings at weekends but give him a call if needed.
He is based in Middlesbrough too so quite handy.

I can about manage it with a 300mm, but the pics need cropping afterwards.
Also, unless things as changed since I was last up there, you can get a pretty unrestricted view from the inside and outside of Tower.
The only problem I can see is that we won't be able to get on the infield, and if we can we'll be stuck there for the whole session.

This was taken with a 100-400L lens & a 1.4x convertor

Very true. I have taken many a pic, using the same equipment of as my father, and they've never been as good. My father's a professional photographer/cinematographer.
Looking forward to getting some godd pics on the day, especially of the T350 and Noble.
