Wheel refurbishment / powder coating
Discussion
I'm looking at changing the colour of some superlite wheels I have and am thinking along the lines of powder coating them.
Is this the best method of changing the colour I also want the lip machined to contrast the black centres.
Any recommendation on companies that could carry this out based in Newcastle?
Thanks
Ross

AlloyFIX in Westerhope's Redburn industrial estate could do this for you I'd imagine. I know they certainly do re-colouring wheels along with the usual refurb and repair stuff. Last time I went past their premesis they had a load of multicoloured wheels hanging off the front of the building as decor.

I know it's not Newcastle, but s.e.m in Sunderland are supposed to have a good reputation.
Having emailed nigh on every alloy wheel refubishers in the North East, these were the only ones to come back to me to confirm they could diamond cut the rim of my Clio Williams's as well as shot blasting them. £72 per wheel all in I was quoted. I've not had them done yet but given the glowing reports I've read of their work I have no concerns over the standard. arkenphel said:
Great! Do you guys think SEM could fix my rather kerbed V8 M3 rims? They are diamond cut finish I think.
yep, they did my 19" diamond cut E46 M3 wheels, and they were like "brand spanking new" when I got them back, I didn't want to put them back on the car, I just wanted to sit and look at them!!!!!!!http://wheeltech.org.uk/
Thry these guys in Darlington. They are very helpful, and I have seen their work. First class service.

I'm looking to get my m3 wheels done this summer off them. They only thing is they said the laqeur doesn't last that long which is making me think I should get them polished instead?
This is right. The lacquer will chip at some point and start to lift again, this is why you see more and more E46 19"s that have been polished/painted rather then finished OEM. p4cks said:

S.E.M. in Sunderland are a 10/10 from me!Anyone got any fixed prices?
I have a set of old range Rover wheels on my laner and they go down on me... the rims are suffering from corrosion.
I'm not looking for any flash finish, theres no kerb damage or anything just corrosion, just a clean up and black powder coat would do.
Ta,
Steve
