Hi all

Feeling a bit charitable at the moment, and I'm beginning talks with a number of Charities in and around the North East. I'm looking for any NEPH'ers who may be willing to give a little bit of time, and more importantly their cars, to meet-up and enjoy a drive to organised venues where we can share our cars with those less fortunate than ourselves, to enjoy a cuppa, have a natter, have a mingle, have photo-shoots and the like. The venues will be selected to be car-friendly, so no destructive types.

Anyone who has an interesting or photogenic car, and may be willing to help out, please add yourself to this register. You don't need to be available for every venue, just drop in and out as and when you can make it.

This isn't specifically to raise money as such, more the opportunity to share our motors with those who wouldn't normally have the opportunity.

The specifics of any events and venues I'll keep offline, so wont be documented on here, other than possible photos after an event.

This has been approved by Garlick/Pistonheads management

Thanks in advance, please help.

Sean.

I'd be happy to go however I no longer have the Z and now have another Focus ST. May not be worthy but if you don't get many takers I'll be glad to tag along.

Sorry, may be being a bit dense here. How does this benefit the charities you are in talks with?

Financially it does not, but it does give a bit of excitement, change, something to look forward to, something they wouldn't have the opportunity to do etc etc. you cannot put a price on raising a smile from someone who could be otherwise seriously ill, for example.

Edited to add, starting to get responses in, so original post being updated, thanks so far.

Sean, I think you need to 'offer something' other than turning up with a few cars which does not seem to do enough. I only say this based upon working with charities a few years ago. The range of cars needs a to be a bit more special as well; not knocking people's cars with that comment.

Hi, you can put me down on the list. Lotus Esprit S4s, obviously will depend on work & other commitments but happy to help if it's for a worthy cause.

I like the idea of this, and while I don't have a car that is special I'd be willing to help out anyway I can.

I think my car is photogenic, but I guess that depends on the beholder.

Its nothing rare/expensive, only an alfa 156 SW, but I'm game.

If its not to your ideas, I'm happy to help in other ways.

FFS! I'm gonna be selling mine to a garage next week, you could have had it for what they're offering frown

Not sure what car I'll have whenever this happens Sean, but if it's something worthy then I'll definitely do it!

Thank you so much everyone who has offered to help out, and those offering their support.

I've been quietly waiting until we have a decent selection of cars on the offer, and I now think we've achieved that, so I'll now resume talks with appropriate charities, and report back.

Cheers

Sean.
