A friend of mine, who now lives Stateside, is a big TVR fan.
He was looking to get a TVR (probably a Griff) over here, but then the branch he worked at was shut down and he relocated to Seattle, so never got the chance.
He now owns a 2500M which is being restored.
The point is though, is that he's never been in a modern TVR (although he has been in the Marcos!).

He's getting married next month, going to Italy for the honeymoon, and will be in the NE for something like 4 days end August / beginning September on their way back to Seattle.
I would like to arrange a ride in TVR for him, although if possible multiple TVR's would be superb.
I think it would make an unforgettable wedding present.

Would anyone be willing to help out?
I'll gladly pay peoples petrol expenses (he'll be staying with his sister in Birtley) and/or take everyone out for a drink.
I think it would put a smile on his face to hear a group of TVR's rumbling down the street!

I'll try to find out when it is he'll be over here.

Any help would be GREATLY appreciated.
Who knows, I might even have the Marcos running by then....

I'll give him a run out.

Why don't you organise the next pub meet to coinside with when your friend is here.

Count me in. Any excuse for a run out. Good idea to make this the next Shafto's meet. Byff could conclude the event by giving him a donut or two.

I thought you decided we were too posh for donuts, and we do cheesecake instead?

I'd love to, but I've got his new bride to consider too.
She likes cars, and no doubt she'll love all the NEPHers cars, but doubt she'll appreciate a full day of them.
She should be OK with an evening meet though.

Bomb, thanks very much.
He's going to go back to Seattle a very happy bunny.

Just found out that my friends will be arriving the evening of 20th August, and leaving on the morning of Tuesday 24th.
This straddles Tiffin in the Dales, and I've mentioned this to them to see if they're interested.
Otherwise, so as not to interfere with peoples weekend, maybe meet on the Monday night?

Monday 23rd August at Shafto's is OK for me. Lets give it a day or two to run on this thread and if it looks like a goer I post it separately.
