Hi guys,

I'm looking to buy a property and I'm trying to weigh up the pros & cons of buying a property with a garage, or buying a cheaper property and having a garage built.

Does anybody have any ball park figures how much it would cost to have a single garage built up here?

Having a garage built you would need planning permission or you could erect a prefab garage.

For prices you would be best phoning a couple of local builders to get a rough idea

Sorry cant be much more help

Thanks. Obviously presuming that planning permission is OK and that it's Free hold land (Other houses have had garages built on the estate that I'm looking at). Googling has come up with people saying everything from £2K to £20K. It would be handy to know as a lot of properties with garages seem to be a good £10k more than those without.

Brick garage, at least 5k for something quite basic.

Thanks, I'm going back to some of the houses at the weekend to measure them up.
