My plans for the weekend of the BNG have been cancelled, so I was thinking of coming down. I'm far too lazy to go trawling through all the relevant threads, so I'm in brain-picking mode again.

I can probably only come down for one day, so would the Saturday or Sunday be better? Also, I might bring the family, just for the day out. That would involve leaving the Elise behind (NOOOOOOOO!!), or taking two cars. Is entry per car, per person, or combination?

Should Snr and Jnr not want to come, what's the deal with accommodation - is it a camping thing?
And finally, is there a convoy/meeting place?

Wendy, Saturday or Sunday is a very good question and annoyingly I don't know the answer. I have posted a new thread on the BNG forum to get an idea of what is planned. Saturday looks like a BIG car gathering but Sunday isn't obvious to me.

I'll look at a map soon and organise some meeting places for a convoy.

We always convoy

Sunday is a mixture of either a car club event with the NYTVRCC or going to Croft.

Saturday is the "show" on the south of the NY moors. In the evening is a relatively expensive meal (for me anyway), dance and what-have-ya.

I'm going on the Saturday for the show, hopefully meeting up with some others on the way but missing the meal in the evening.

Elise + Bilsdale....

You may find yourself turning round in Helmsley then going back again a few times.

I was thinking of heading down on the Saturday just for the day Stefan - I sense a convoy coming on..... (well, two cars anyway)

As long as it includes the B1257 I don't care which way we go

Do you northern lot want to come down the A1 or A19? A1 would be quicker but with little opportunity to drive NY Moors roads. A19 offers a nice opportunity to drive the infamous B1257, well worth it if it fits with your journey south. Let me know and I'll put a convoy plan together.

If I'm going I'll meet with Wendy at Chester-le-Street (only a few mins away).

Junction A19 / A67. Travelling south take the A67 junction which sweeps around. Signs to Crathorne. Just after turning left onto minor road to Crathorne park up at the side.

Meet there at 10:45, leave at 11:00, 24th July.

There's plenty of parking space 150 mts along the minor road as indicated on Stefan's map below.

I've edited the instructions above. Green indicator on Sefan's map pinpoints the parking area. Side of the road. Road is wide and quiet so parking won't be a problem.

Me not going.
B@##@$KS!!

More problems, more delays.
I don't want to rush the remaining jobs to get the car ready, I want it to be right.

Have a good time, and if anyone wants to call around just the verify that I really DO have a car, please feel free.

It's going to be winter again before you're on the road. You need to conscript some slaves to do this work for you.
