A while ago a forum member emailed me offering me assistance if i ever had any issues with my vx220 as they had owned one previously and had sorted various problems.

Now i have an issue getting the car started at them min, its probably a minor issue as the car runs fine when bump started but i cannot put my finger on it. Who was that person? I cant remeber and their asistance might be useful?

Best of luck getting this one sorted! Now is a good time of year for enjoying these two seater sports cars, the roads are dry and the air is cool and dense. Hope it's back to 100% soon.

Fixed it.

Replaced the battery and now it starts on the button.

When replacing the battery i also knackered the heating ducting so made some mods to that too. Hopefully might make the heating more effective!!!

It might have been me. I've owned 6 VX220s in my time. Love them.

If you have any bother, just let me know. And the battery problem is quite common on VXs, for some reason. Bit of a bugger to change too aren't they? wink

Cheers, I was worried it was a major issue however it was simply the battery that was dead. Probably becaus eht ecar hadnt been used much over the last couple of months.

Anyway the cars up for sale now. Not desperate to sell but I dont really use it enough now to justify keeping it. Still if it doesnt sell, not the end of the world!

No probs. I'm toying with the idea of getting another VXT as I have my Z4C up for sale now but I really really want a 911 (which is the reason I have it up for sale). I can see myself getting the 911, getting bored, then getting a VXT again.

Have both! Get the 911 and budget a couple of grand for an MR2 Turbo on a classic policy. You've then got the Porsche and a mid-engined turbo powered sports car to enjoy! My recently sold MR2 Turbo was a real hoot.

Had an offer on the car today, just a little way short of what I want for it!

Ha I wish! Although I'll be happy with a 911 and a Clio Williams smile

A 911 sounds nice, but the Clio Williams is what really interests me! I still remember seeing one for the first time, driving along the main road through Wideopen once.

Car now gone a bit sad to see it go but buyers seemed a spot on fella, Fairly painless transaction, tiny amount of haggling due to car having a small fibreglass repair on the boot I wasnt aware of but fairly happy with price.

Sure i could probably have got a little more but not so much more that it was worth the hassle of tyre kickers and idiots coming round. Also it seems to have gone to someone enthusiastic about the car and driving!!
