Anyone recommend a good DJ in the North East?

Hi all

We're looking to have a good birthday party in April this year, and hoping to find a good DJ in the area.

All the parties we've been to in recent years, the DJ tends to turn up with a laptop, fire up some virtual DJ software, and click play, and that's it. Not being funny but I'm more than capable of doing that myself.

What I'm looking for is someone with a bit of personality, not afraid to use the mic, play some decent tunes, everything from 80's through to current day, play some games, get the crowd going, a bit of humour, and just someone with a good 'radio' voice and personality.

Can anyone recommend such a person? I'm even in talks with the big local radio station to have a pro do it, but its a bit on the £££ side.

Sounds just like me! But unfortunately I retired from DJing years ago.

I have a few friends in the game but most of them work regularly in bars or at radio stations so would have to check dates etc.
