And now we're second

The battle is lost. We can't compete with Yorkshire, they have far more active Phers these days.
I quite agree. We need to get more active people recruited to PH, so get some big PH stickers on our cars and drive round and round the North East. (I know I've only got an ickle one on mine, but at least it's there)
Also, if we organise another big run out, like the Holy Island Hoon, that always gets the posts up.
Same here, I have mentioned PH to many people but they rarely post or join.
I know for sure there are plenty of people on PH who live in the North but few post or come on trips for one reason or another.
I reckon we organise a large trip such as a Holy Island Hoon (as suggested earlier) and work from that. If you want NE PH to be recognised why don't we organise it rather than getting help from Gemini/Chim Girl et al?

I know I was very verbal about NEPH being in the lead but it really doesn't bother me. It shouldn't be about counting posts; it should be about the events and the number of people attending those events. There simply aren't enough active NEPHers to make it worth organising anything big anymore.
I intend to organise a 'fixed date', 'fixed venue' regular NEPH meet that people come to when they can. See how that goes.

Having met Bob a few times now (albeit on the way to Yorkshire events), and having a car that is now heading out of the "knackered" category and into the "just shabby" one (fingers firmly crossed), I'll be coming north more often. Been going south as I know Yorks much better (lived in Leeds for 6 years, then Harrogate), but really must try harder, as it's no further from Northallerton....

The danger of that is if there are only a few people turn up, the same ones over again and eventually they get sick and don't bother organising anything anymore.
I quite like the idea of starting a thread on here stating anyone for such and such a pub on such and such a date. Get more than a couple of responses and it can go ahead, only a couple, and it can be jiggied around to suit or called off altogether.
Don't get dishearted, we have a very good little area here. Just look at how many of us turned up for the Kielder run - only our second real event, the first one got washed out a little.
The more runs out we organise, the more people find out about us and want to join in.
Oh, BTW Chim_girl, the Holy Island run is our idea which has been stolen by Gemini.

Correct. Wednesday 18th Feb and byff & I were planning to include a Tyne Tunnel run. Gemini posted 17th May. As I say, it doesn't bother me who, what, where, when, just helping byff put the record straight.
Of course it’ll be a bigger and better event now because Gemini brings with him more people.
More people = More fun
