Anyone else seen the "New lower fuel prices" banner on the pedestrian fly-over? Surprised to see they've knocked unleaded down to a competitive 131.9p per litre. Had an immediate effect in Chester Le Street, Total garage on by-pass have dropped their's from 135.9p to match.

It was 126.9p at Asda metrocentre the other day but I think its now also 131.9p.

Only lazy people or tourists buy fuel on the motorway. You can usually save £5 if you fill up at one of the cheaper locations.

Agree with Shell, one near me in Hartlepool is always as cheap as the supermarkets!

I assume you mean Whitemarepool roundabout on the Hebburn side of the A194? That's not so cheap recently (as in about 8p/litre more than Tesco U/L in parts of Durham)

Easington Services is one of the ones I use a lot (drive past it on my daily commute). Would never put supermarket fuel in my cars. Even the daily driver which runs on the heavy, evil fuel of satan only gets filled at shell.

Shell have been one of the cheapest for a while around tyneside, always big queues at the Redheugh bridge and Blaydon. The one at Byker is cheap too. The one at Westerhope and Heddon not so much so for some reason.

Normally true, but I was only pointing out that at Washington they've reduced the price to a 'normal' level. At risk of starting up the supermarket fuel quality debate, it's BP too.
