Following on from my previous post, I now have 4 18" alloys off the car and in need of a refurb.

Thanks to everyone who posted before - Barry's tyres did an excellent job for £10 a corner.

So, anyone know where I can get my alloys refurbed?

They're off the car so I can take them somewhere and pick them up later.

They were diamond cut aroumd the rims only and water has got under the lacquer causing corrosion. The rest of the wheel is 100% OK.

They need rubbing down around the rim and powder coating.

Don't know if you can do that just to the rim, or if the whole wheel will need doing.

I'm going to sell them so I'd like a good job doing for as little dosh as possible.

Thanks.

Romax in Stockton would be my default place, depends where in the NE you are though.

I'm anywhere from Newcastle to Leeds.

Will checkout Romax - thanks.

Ive heard mixed reports about Romax. Something about them changing hands....and quality slipping. Not used them myself though.

I used SEM in sunderland, cant fault the service or quality. That was with 4 19 inch CSL wheels.

Ive had a few sets done recently by prestige powder coating in Hartlepool, bit of a drive for me but quality is 2nd to none, they have just done 2 sets of Audi rims for me last week from silver to a charcoal to match the black edition alloys , the wheels were scruffy looked like a dog had been chewing the edge and they came back looking brand new.

I"ve previously used the places mentioned in this thread and this place is equally as good if not better and cheaper with a very fast turn around!

I've dealt with Motorcool as a company for years and their powder-coating business for a good few ever since I was fobbed-off by another 'big name' in Stockton... I won't say I go out of my way to tell customers to go elsewhere but... I'd use Motorcool wink
Shaun will bend over backwards to help and can keep a civil tongue, unlike a certain other d!ckhead.
And powder-coating as a technique is a piece of p155, I can do it in my garage so there should be no excuse for poor finish from so-called professionals.

We do alot of wheels through work and used to always use Romax, until the quality fell off the edge of a cliff, now use Motorcool all the time, never had a single issue with them.

Wouldn't use said person again. He repainted a small section of a wing, but managed to forget to polish out all of the 400 wet and dry scratches that had been rubbed into the sorrounding area that was not painted!

Said person also managed to overspray lacquer onto the bonnet which was left as a matt finish.
