Really??

"ALL the speed cameras in Newcastle and along the A1 through Northumberland have been switched off for the last 22 months, the Chronicle can reveal."

Don't get too excited, there's still mobile vans in Northumbria's area along with Durham and Cleveland. Also Cleveland still has fixed cameras. wink

They're back to their old tricks in Stockton - hiding behind a bus shelter in Fairfield, such that the van was just peeping out.

I believe County Durham have a policy of no fixed speed cameras whatsoever. There are a few around Teesside though.

Interesting that they're all turned off (and a move in the right direction, they should sell them for scrap next). They're still flashing though, as I set off a forward facing one doing 70mph on the A1 past Morpeth on a driving course a few months ago.

/\/\/\ only mobile ones.....and generally in 30 zones which I do not mind
