Charity walkers

To all the people doing the meningitis charity walk today. I've no doubt you all did it with the best possible intentions, but was it really sensible for some of you to be walking down the middle of the road towards Chester-le-Street.
As someone who has lost two relatives in RTAs it really astounds me the stupidity of some people, it really doesn't matter that you have a 4x4 saying 'walkers in road' I don't think it allows you to wander down the middle of the road shaking buckets at motorists.
