Just booked a Trackday at Teesside Autodrome on Friday 7th October. It's a bit different to normal as the track time is sit between bikes and cars (30 mins each per hour). Cost is a very reasonable £99 for a car and £75 for a bike.

If anybody else fancies it, have a look here: http://www.thetrackdayclub.com/

Could always go for a few beers and something to eat afterwards.

I really fancy doing one in the vx, I just havent got the kahunas. I also believe it might be too loud for most tracks and the teeside is a bugger of a track if you have an off?

Teesside is very noise friendly :-) Drive within your limits and it's fine. It's a fun little track. Your welcome to come out for a pax with me to experience it first hand before taking your own car out.

Totally agree about sessions, but this isn't really sessioned like the normal 20 mins per hour. True, it's split with the bikes, but I think that will be part of the attraction (ex-biker here). It's more akin to OPL, but within 30 min slots. Sort of a cross between the two.

Yeah, to be fair, the numbers are nice and low, so the traffic's fairly well spread.

They've hardly run any this year which is a shame as it was the only local regular thing we had left up here.

Thought about this but its only £80 for a full day's testing using the same format (if any bikes turn up) and no (or virtually no) traffic.

Yep, this is what I used to do.

There was only me and one bike there one day! Was like my own private racetrack. smile

I think you have to have a racecar though don't you, or at least a full-cage?

Ha! Jammy git! smile

That's why I sold the Global. Got fed up with the trailoring carry on and the fact the car just stood in the garage 99% of the time.

Going road legal in the spring. Wouldn't go on track without a cage though so it'll have one.

It's a great track for VX's. Just take it easy and drive within your limits.

My car has a full Millek and to be honest has never even been sound tested there.

Yeah that's right.
They don't sound test at Teesside but, if you're stupidly loud they'll pull you in and tell you to sort it.

You're right though Insano, there is zero run-off. The corner that gets most is passing the pits, approaching pit exit. It's off camber and when you lose it you get fired back in towards the pit wall (well if you're in something quick). The other part is the right hander at the end of the back straight. Too much gas and you get spat into the wall.
There are safer places to go for run-off but the rest of the track at teesside is straightforward so you don't need it.
It's a good little track but doesn't flow like a proper car circuit. The corners simply aren't wide or long enough. It's all we have locally though, unless you spot one of the 4 or 5 noisy days at Croft.

I'm in a RenaultSport Clio 172 Cup. By the looks of the attendee list I'm gonna spend a lot of time with my indicator on, moving out the way to let you guys past!! Will be interesting to see your Lotus, Sounds like an awesome engine conversion, and spec list too!!

Friday the 7th October; I'm going to try and be there as a spectator. I've always thought the track looked a bit tight and more suited to go-karts (as an spectator that is). Can any regular entrant tell me otherwise? I might do this one as well as Croft.

It's a better kart track than car track but it's good enough for the money. Just need to be careful as some have said. To put it into context the mlr run a sprint there and quite a few of the cars are 600bhp plus monsters.

Its a fun little track. OK, its no proper race track like Croft, Oulton, Cadwell, but its a fun day out in the car, for not very much money and local to us.

Hers's some footage from when I have been previously:
