Hello all.

Daft southerner here has a week off with his missus in early November. We've never really been up your way before apart from to go to work meetings and was thinking of a week pootling round enjoying ourselves taking places in.

We like walking up and down hills and along cliffs and rugged coastline-y type stuff, and a good bit of scenery.
Also good hotels/B&B (Sawday's recommended type stuff) and nice pubs, top fresh food.

Clearly good roads are a necessity too :-)

Were thinking of heading round Whitby/Robin Hood bay way, and some North Yorks moors type stuff.

Are we stupid, or enlightened? What/where can you recommend?

thanks all !

Have you considered further north into Northumberland?
