malmaison might be pricy though. the vermont is ok as well apparently. Also you cannot get much more central than the central hotel at central station.

I am loving the idea of the central hotel lol. I am going to see a show at the Arena and spend the day shopping and dont want to drive so hoping everywhere is a short walk or taxi away.

As said central hotel is across the road from train station, 5 minutes from the Arena, and as near to the shops as you'd want to be. That part of town can attract some interesting characters at night though.

We stayed in the Thistle, County Hotel last Christmas for our works party. Over the road from the station, 5 mins from the shops and the arena.

City Apartments is also a good shout.
You actually get a one bedroom apartment. It's on Northumberland Street, oppposite Fenwicks, and costs only a tiny fraction a night more than most hotels.
