auto electrician / zafira cooling fans

Hi Guys,

Does anyone know of a reasonable (cheap) auto electrician in the birtley/chester area?

The cooling fans on my wifes Zafira have packed up...the fuse is ok, the temp gauge works but i am damned if i can find an otter switch on or near the radiator to rig up a quick bypass switch back to the dash.

I have been right round the radiator and ther eis nothing so it looks like i am going to have to either get someone else to have a second look or just take a feed from the fuse direct to the fans.

Think i will need to do some work on the chim as well to get rid of the zafira contamination.... lol

Andy, there is no Otter switch on the rad, the fans are run by the control module behind the bumper on the left hand side.(2001 model)
Have you checked the relay?
Handily my Haynes doesn't say where this is located,

Cheers, thats what i was thinking....ecu control or similar.

Anyway for now i have just fitted an overide switch....if it gets too hot i can just flip a switch and check the relays at my lesure...i am doing another newcastle to brighton and back on wednesday and last week i got stuck in traffic on the m25 car park for over an hour...at least i wont have any worries this time...!!!!
