Er, .... Mods, I think you need to remove this thread before I hand this over to my lawyer!! I run The Trackday Club, and have been doing so for 3 years!

Isn't he just asking if others are going along too? Looks like similar posts we get in the track days forum, asking much the same for other track day events.

Why would you need a lawyer? He's not claiming to be an organiser confused

He isn't claiming the name as his own, he's simply provided links to it..

Is the website linked yours? If not, I suggest taking it up with the owners of said website..

I think the issue is with the company name in the link on the first post. As has been said, there is already a company called The Trackday Club: http://www.thetrackdayclub.co.uk/ which runs events based n the North East.

I have used http://www.thetrackdayclub.co.uk/ in the past and really enjoyed them. Seems now there is another company operating in the same geographical area, operating in the same market and using a very similar name. Hence the legal question.

Thanks for that, maybe someone will have the intelligence to understand where the conflict lies.

Joe, you'll have to forgive us for not googling around to find out what the issue is.. If your insinuation is that we, Pistonheads and their moderation team, should be doing something about it, I'm afraid that this is not an issue of our concern. The OP has linked to a website, quite innocently. As I have already pointed out, if you have an issue with the site owner/TDO you should take it up with them.

The OP's post does not break any rules of PH.

Erm ... is that aimed at yourself confused

I fail to see any direct connection between 2 different companies with 2 different names, 2 different domain names, 2 different look and feels, 2 different audiences.

But then again, I am Irish, so obviously totally lacking any intelligence smile

I have explained to you about my website, someone comes on here, & promotes a company bearing the same name, and makes some attempt to deceive people into assuming it is the same company, when in actual fact it isn't. My company websites are
www.thetrackdayclub.co.uk
www.thetrackdayclub.com
I have asked politely that this thread be removed, & your refusal is assisting in the promotion of a company, trying to operate and enhance itself on my company's reputation. What relationship the OP has to that company is totally irrelavant, and I ask you one final time to terminate this thread!

Please tell me ....

What has your website got to do with the website as referred to by the OP?

I'm really struggling to understand the issue.

Chaps, there are wires crossed here. I was simply asking if anyone is going to the track day at Croft Circuit on the 14th August. I had no intention of stepping on anyones toes. I was invited to the track day via the Audi TT Forum and by PM on that Forum. I am driving my TT on that day. This will be my first time drive with a road car on a race circuit although I had 15 years of competing at Croft many moons ago with a Lotus Factory Lightweight 26R and another dedicated racing Elan based on the Lotus 26R. Google Joe Lanny.

I also raced a Ginetta G12 at Croft and a Crossle Formula Ford. I have no connection with any company as mentioned on here and I am promoting nothing. My apologies to you if I didn't express myself properly.

it is clearly obvious that ttcool was only highlighting that there is a trackday soon and reminding fellow pistonheads of this.this is the nature of forums.i think a certain someone should calm down and take his head out of his arse for a minute and realise this.

I agree I do not see what the problem is
one company call 'the track day club'
and another called 'the car enthusiasts track day club'

if I wanted to track day my car (which I have once but became bored with as not able to overtake in the areas before and during a corner - although I was second fastest out of 60) I would contact the 'circuit' and see what was coming up.
