Winter tyre/wheel suppliers

Hi all,

Just looking for a winter wheel set for my Alpina, does anyone know of any tyre fitters in sunderland/gateshead/newcastle that can help out someone who hasn't got a clue about tyres.

The alpina is a D3 so its the same chassis as a BMW E90, either looking to buy steel wheels with winters fitted or some cheap alloys that I can have winters fitted onto.

Mytyres will sell winter tyres already fitted to steel wheels - then its simply a case of swapping them over yourself or getting a garage to. When I had my BMW I bought a set of 2nd hand alloys which I fitted a set of winter tyres to - for our current 2 cars they already have the smallest wheel size possible to fit over the brakes (smallest wheel size is generally preferable for winter tyres as enables you to run a narrow section (width) which 'cut' through snow and slush better than wide tyres) so simply swap the tyres over for the winter on the existing wheels. For the Jag (18" wheels) I purchased the tyres direct from Germany (Reifen website) as they were much cheaper than any of the UK based websites), but for our other car I just bought the tyres from Mytyres around September time and arranged fitment locally.
