Any cheapo body shops?
Discussion
I'd been toying with the idea of trading my 330i in for something cheaper to fuel but the insulting part ex values I've been given have persuaded me to keep hold of it.
Since I'm going to have it for a while, there are a couple of bits of bodywork that could do with tidying up (mainly a rusty tailgate and some peeling laquer + the odd dent). The car is not worth enough to justify spending a lot on. I'm just after some cheap and cheerful bodyshop recommendations. The closer to Newcastle/Gateshead the better.

How cheap is cheap?
Free in an ideal world! It's hard to quantify in all honesty. The car is worth £2000 or so. It has a rusty area on the tailgate and peeling lacquer on the bonnet. Both make an otherwise relatively tidy car look very scruffy. The car doesn't need to win any concourse awards, I'd just like it to be presentable. I guess £2-300 is worth spending where as £500 probably isn't.
He didn't get it done as he was looking for an A1 job but I had a couple of VX220s bodged up there before and the most I spent was £250 for a full rear clam respray. When I put a hole in the front it of one of mine it was only £90.
A lot of of used car dealers use him to bodge their cars up and you very much pay for what you get. Highly recommended by me as although the finish isn't exactly like it was when it left the factory, for the money you really can't grumble. Although when I was last there he was respraying a Ferrari 348!!!
It's in South Shields, has no name and no sign and it is just a one man band. I would have to show someone where it is, and introduce which I am happy to do as he is a gent.
