Anyone any idea if the speed camera heading into Newcastle, on to 50 limit is working or what its set to?

Had a laps of concentration and went thro at indicated 58 frown

Just wondering if I am buggered?

New name Pedro ? (long time no see by the way wink )

Indicated 58 is probably a true 54-55. I'd be surprised if the trigger speed is less than 60, so my guess is you'll be ok.

Howdy, did not relise I could change me name, assuming it was available, so what I use now is close to what I use on other forums smile

Had a talk someone who is involved with Advanced Driver Institude who said that those cameras are hardly ever on. I also checked my speedo against my satnave at its about 4mph out so within the 10% + 3 rule.

I am fine BTW and had commented on a couple of your posts on POTN but you never replied so assumes you were quiet.

I do pop in the Motorsport section from time to time to see what you, Simon and Ian are up to but you guys have been very quiet.

I sold my 1D about a month agao after getting a 7D.

Did you go to Touring Cars today at Croft, I see Plato got pole smile

I'm not surprised, but a 30mph limit and a 50mph limit are slightly different animals.

If it's a first offence, were you offered a Speed Awareness course?

I tend to post & run on there these days. The half-baked comments get on my nerves so i rarely go back to threads i start....no idea why i bother to be honest. Neither Simon nor Ian bother much either.

I spent Friday & Saturday at Croft with Simon and i'll be there on Sunday too.

What do you think of the 7D then? I love mine but i'm planning to get a 1DMKIV in the next few months.

WEll as I have not done any Motorsport for a while it made sence as get invited to do a lot of work for my work which is sometime low light stuff without a flash. It does a lot of things well and the high ISO quality is very good. I nearly went 5DII but felt the 7D covered more eventualities. The small size and built in flash also come in handy. Not used the 120-300 for a while now though.

Should realy get back to Croft, at least, and refresh my memory re cars and cameras smile

Id MKIV, very nice, got to spend your hard earned cash on somit smile

I don't think they're on at the moment. I saw a police car doing over 70 on a blue light run down there this morning, in the rain as the streetlights were going off. If the camera had flashed I surely would have seen it from where I was, it would have been very obvious. That was going down towards the Coast mind, but I would assume they'd activate both at once.

The camera does not flash as such, its infra red. If it flahed in your face it would possible cause an accident

A site explaining all the cameras - http://www.ukspeedcameras.co.uk/guide.htm#Truvelo

The SpeedSpike is the one that worries me - Big Brother?
