Vintage Vehicle Rally
Sunday 19th June 2011 This summer, Raby Castle will once again play host to the 12th Raby Classic Vehicle Show and Vintage Rally, organised by Mark Woodward Classic Events. Taking place on Sunday 19th June 2011, the event is just one of 18 nostalgic shows organised by Mark Woodward, held throughout the summer in the UK.

Visitors to this well-known and long established event can browse for hours amongst displays of all types of classic cars, motorcycles, trucks, vans and vintage tractors. On top of this, there will be an arena and commentary plus awards, a children’s funfair, an auto jumble for anyone looking for a bargain or a rare or discontinued part and not forgetting Raby’s permanent attractions; the castle, deer park, gardens, carriage collection, tearoom and gift shop.

As an additional benefit for those attending the June Raby Classic Vehicle Show, in celebration of the 50th anniversary of the E type Jaguar sports car, regional Jaguar clubs will combine a display of 50 of the famous E type Jaguars as well as a further display of other models of Jaguars through the years up to and including their new XJ Model. Organiser Mark Woodward said, “I am really excited about the Raby Show, especially with the 50th anniversary celebrations for the E type Jaguar – it is a quintessential British car. We are expecting over 120 Jaguars to attend, which will be quite a sight to behold!”

The 12th Raby Classic Vehicle Show (sponsored by Peter James Insurance 0121 506 60 40) takes place on Sunday 19th June 2011. Admission is from 10am - 4pm.

Adult entry £6, Child entry £2.50. (This includes access to all the attractions, except inside the castle, which involves a small fee.)

For more information about this event or to find out how to get involved, please contact Mark Woodward on 01697 451882 or 07768 741610, or visit www.markwoodwardclassicevents.com.

For those visitors wishing to visit the Castle also. There will be a small additional charge payable at the entrance to the Castle.

Thinking of taking my dad down. Been to that VW festival up the coast today though, so could do with cracking on with some jobs tomorrow.

It was a nice day out!

Here are a few snaps:

And the only TVR spot of the day - PH's own "tvr stee" parked in the visitor section -

My final comment - Why would anyone chose to display a boggo-spec 2003 DIESEL Jaguar X-Type next to the lovely D-Types, E-Types and XJS's at a vintage car show?!?!!

(Yes I can say this as I have an X-Type. A top-spec 3-Litre V6 one, which I put straight into the visitor section where the X-Types belong at car shows!)
