I'm posting this for a mate who's done the following... Is there anyone who knows anything about what may be wrong or be able to help in the Alnwick area.

"I've just 'stupidly managed to wire jump leads up positive to neg on my car. It was slightly dark and the leads were melted by the time I pulled them off. Another set of leads on the right way and car won't start. It has some systems but no ignition lights or starter. Any one know what might be wrong, I'm worried I've fried the ecu's, there's 2 of them, it won't lock either !!"

Cheers.

When you say Alnwick area, can you be a little more specific?
North or south?

Try calling the nice people at Mastora in Alnwick. They are predominantly Land Rover, but are helpful and efficient.
If recovery is needed A J K Thompson normally sort me out!

Otherwise call Dave Bennie in Sandyford, with anything auto electrical he is a genius!

If yur lucky you will have just blown the fuseable links (right next to the + battery connector) & any of the larger fuses,
but if your unlucky.......on an Audi A8................ dont want to even think about it

"Thanks for the replies, Problem now solved. Put a new battery on it, when doing so there is a unit the live wire goes into direct from the battery ( Might be some sort of battery management module)it had a plug with 2 wires coming out of it, it looked like this plug had popped out, we pushed it in and Bob's your uncle it started. Fantastic !!"

Cheers for the replys.
