Just a warning that the council have tarred and chipped the A167 between Durham Cricket Ground towards the Church Mouse.

Anyone precious about their paintwork might want to avoid it for a few days.

Although I was doing 20mph, the transit that over took me must have been approaching 50!

Seems to be that time of year - they have just started doing the A688 between Bishop Auckland and Spennymoor.

aye, I saw the signs out on Wednesday morning but didn't believe it! That's until a came along there this morning and found out the hard way. Absolutely shocking that they've done that to busy road like that. It's seems to be standard on some of teh more minor roads, but never seen it on there before.

I think that was top dressed some time last week, so it should be "okay" now - i.e. all the chippings will have been flung off the road instead of being pressed into the road.
