North York Moors run - Lion Inn, Blakey
Discussion
ostimism. How do get it, how do you change the way you think?
Today when driving somewhere, the indicators died which I figured was my fault for moving the flasher unit and fixing the broken light on the front. When I got there I replaced the fuse, took the flasher unit out (which had burned out) and started home with a tail car (a mate was there anyway so followed creating a buffer as it were).
All was good, until about 1/4 mile from home when warning light came on (no idea of what the warning is however), the revs dropped then all the rev-counter, lights and everything died. Pulling over and stopping helped. Indeed the car fired back up nicely after a little while and I managed to get home successfully. I know the oil and everything is good because I had just checked them that morn in preparation for tommorrow.
I've checked everything over I can think off (fuses, connection I fixed, flasher unit...) but I still have no rev-counter, no indicators, no lights nada... The engine runs, but everything else is dead. No idea why either... My dad, who I pretty much rely on to help diagnose the problems is in the Lakes with my mother for a day out and won't be back until later.
We'll be looking at it tommorrow morn, but since I would have to leave here by 9:40 at the latest, there isn't much chance of (a) repairing it and (b) running it for a while to check all is kosha, in time to make the meeting
Thus, and with a suitable amount of upset, I have to inform you I won't be able to make the run tommorrow. Never mind the preparations I have made so far, and the excitement I had - I can't go out for a enjoyment run worrying about the car and various other things.
As I said, how can you remain optomistic when life seems to deliver blow after blow after blow? Still, least I didn't break down on the run, or indeed in the middle of the moors...
I hope you all enjoy the run, I look forward to seeing the pictures and seeing what I missed
I'm still hoping it might be something dead easy to fix, but I doubt I'll be able to make the meeting at 11...

Ha Ha! You can't fool me! You're loaded - in fact the only reason you bought the TVR was so that you could practice a "tight grip" on the steering wheel so that you could do the same with your wallet!
Go on - buy all the lads a beer, you can't take it with you!

Are you not meeting at Safeways?
Just to let everyone know, I'll not be at Washington Services, I'll just go straight to Safeway at Gateshead.
I can see myself sitting there with no Stefan and no wildfire, feckin billy no mates here all alone.
