I'm taking my lass to the O2 next Friday for a concert as a late Christmas present, can anyone with local knowledge offer any advice as to the easiest way to get there?

Although we'll be coming down from Norfolk, I do have office parking available at South Quay if I want so could get the DLR, but as I've never been to the O2 I'd appreciate any pointers.

If you have convenient free parking a short ride away use it as parking is very expensive - it also saves you trying to get south of the river when everyone else is trying to get home

Should be easy enough to park at South Quay, walk to Canary Wharf and from there it's one stop to North Greenwich (which is part of the 'O2') on the Jubilee Line.

And don't think about trying to eat at the 02 before the show. The food outlets are good/OK just not enought to cope with the audience size.

The bars and restuarants do stay open post show, so you could avoid the crush at the underground station by having a beer/coffee etc.

You could even get a Thames Clipper from/to Canary Wharf if thats her kind of thing.........

Ah yes, that reminds me.

They run out of food very quickly.........especially after a gig.

So, we watch a gig and the mrs and I fancy some nandos.

She want s a burger, I want wings. I place my order blah blah

20 mins later her food comes and mine ends up being a message that they had run out of wings!

Ended up with some roadkill aka a1/4 chicken, never again.

Thanks for all the advice, really appreciate it, looks like parking at South Quay it is with a stroll up to Canary Wharf for either the Jubille or see if she fancies going on the Clipper as that'd be a nice start to the night.
