A Petrol head's search for a flat near Liverpool street

Greetings fellow Phers

Does anyone know of a flat room in London zones. 1-2 that us up for grabs ? I have a shoestring budget if about 500 pounds, and hence am not quite spoilt for choice ! So if you know.please let me know and I will be very grateful.

Most importantly, it would be rather nice to have a flatmate who's also a petrolhead it knows one.

I live a minute from liverpool street,

500 pm is pushing it. but if you went down into aldgate east or past brick lane you might find something.

Out towards Bethnal Green should be doable. Look on Gumtree (and prepare to kiss a few frogs, so to speak).

There were some studio flats around Hoxton and Shoreditch way, that were going for about 500 a month a couple of weeks back.

I think you have to sign a contract, stating you will help to remove dead hookers from the hallway at least once a week. Other than that, they looked to be bang up nice places.

Thanks for the links folks. They are rather timely, because my current landlord in London has been rather rude lately . Earlier this month he took advantage of the fact that I needed something quickly, and did not provide me with a contract. Moreover he insists that I am a lodger, even though I'm paying him a gross rent that amounts to 500 pounds/month, so that he can evade tax . To top it all, he's changed his locks and has made life very difficult for me. Strange are the ways of some landlords !

So, I am back to where I started ! After some house hunting , the only place I have been able to locate is something right next to Hackney downs station. The property itself is quite secure with coded gates, but I'm not quite sure about the area.

Again, any help in this matter would be greatly appreciated.

It's a set of apartments called Marcan place, right next to Hackney downs station.
