decent restaurant near Pall Mall

please can anybody suggest a decent restaurant for lunch near to Pall Mall

needs to be fairly upmarket for business types not too fussed about style of cuisine

IoD has a very nice eatery but I dunno whether it's open to Joe Public. Alternatively, if you don't mind a short walk, there's Simpson's in the Strand. Lovely, lovely, lovely!

Went to the IOD two weeks ago looking for something a little different

We are all out of towners London is convenient for flights etc.

Simpson's looks a good suggestion how busy dose it get midweek lunch

I would guess 'fairly' but we always book a day or three in advance. Never had a problem getting a table yet.

If you're a reciprocal member (if you were a member you'd know obviously), try the Lansdowne Club, Oxford and Cambridge Club or the National Liberal Club.
ahh the IoD - frankly I think it's quite overpriced for the level of service provided.
