Next Thursday (the 10th) I am attending a funeral at at the Beckenham Crematorium & Cemetery (Elmers End Road, Beckenham, Kent BR3 4TD).

I was hoping someone could recommend a pub within walking distance in which I could meet some people before the event and take some Dutch Courage.

Thanks,

The Nearest pub is the William IV in Croydon Rd, however I wouldn't recommend it! Your next nearest is Elmer Lodge in Dunbar Avenue but again not recommended. Your best bet is Beckenham High Street, has about 4 or 5 pubs including a weatherspoons but I would recommend The George. However the best "pub" is the Jolly Woodman in Chancery Lane however this might not be open at the time you are going.

Beckenham is very nice it's a shame you have to go due to bad circumstances. I had to go there myself twice in 2009.
